Hi! I’m Cat Diamond

I founded Supported by Research in 2025 because I believe something magical happens when research meets real-world curiosity – questions get sharper, discoveries reach the people who need them, and new perspectives make the work stronger.

Supported by Research is just getting started, and the community is growing. If you want to get involved, show your support, share your research project or just let me know you’re here, I’d be so happy to hear from you.

HOW THIS STARTED

While working in research and then university communications, I got a front-row seat watching brilliant research just… sit there.

Incredible, potentially life-changing work got published in academic journals – ticking a necessary box – but then disappeared into the overwhelming mass of research online.

Meanwhile, communities had thoughtful questions. Clinical trial participants wanted to know what their contribution helped discover. Policymakers needed evidence-based information. The desire for connection was there on both sides.

The infrastructure to make it happen easily? Not so much.

So I thought, right, I’ll build it then.

A social enterprise – for public good
